This series is a pushback against the American desire for timelessness and permanence. The Impermanence Series embraces the natural act of decay as an essential part of art, showing that building something is always an act of embracing the destruction of the same. Rather than restrict this arc, the Impermanence Series encourages it and reminds us all that the laws of nature are inescapable.

#001 – Invisible Tethers

Brad E. Rose (2024)
Invisible Tethers is an art installation that immerses visitors in the wind through sound – an eight-foot built wind harp and accompanying sound piece – and a custom-made scent. Invisible Tethers invites the audience to sit, to dream, to remember. Blank cards line the walls inside The Bird House and participants are encouraged to write down or draw what they imagine or remember and attach it back to the wall to hang through the winter months, falling apart and fading back into the ether.
